When Urban Fig Photography (UFP) decided to go big on capturing the wedding, engagements, and events markets, owner Jete knew it was high time for a brand transformation.
Sure, UFP had an existing logo and brand identity, but they weren’t strong or memorable. They didn’t represent the current UFP brand. There was an existing WordPress site too — but like the other assets, it didn’t cut the mustard. It was hard to update and difficult to use, for both visitors and the UFP team alike. What they needed — in addition to a new brand identity — was a user-friendly CMS. Somewhere Jete and the team could simply and swiftly upload portfolio items and showcase their beautiful, high-end photography work. In addition, the UFP team needed an easy and effective way to share information about their services, as they were already offering photography workshops. Things needed changing. Fast.
After 10 years, Jete was losing her confidence in her own brand. It was time for brand refresh!
After a discovery call to understand UFP’s ideal target audience, we started building out the brand identity concept. We presented a couple of concepts, with UFP opting for a more high-end, modern, and minimalist theme — with simple lines and visual elements.
However, before beginning the design process, we performed a gap analysis to understand how the old website stacked up against its local competitors — as well as to determine which pages, content and UX elements were missing. This informed our IA (Information Architecture) and UX wireframes were created to ensure we captured all of the services and user experience. We then moved into UI design and ensured that the brand identity this time was well incorporated and infused into the design — creating a holistic look and feel — making the first impression a lasting one and something her users will remember and keep coming back too.
We built out the website in Webflow, a no-code platform that allows Jete and her team to easily update the website themselves, and easily add in courses and portfolios through the powerful CMS and editor mode. The new website now lists all of UFP’s services, courses, and information in one place, under one domain name. With an easy to navigate and intuitive user experience and interface allowing this website to shine amongst the competitors and rank a lot better on Google.
Now, after the entire brand transformation and refresh, Jete has a new ignited confidence in her brand and business. She feels proud of her online presence and is not afraid to drive potential customers there too.

My experience with Khula Studio was literally mind-blowing. I know that sounds super extra, but hearing from friends who have gone through this process, I was expecting things to take 6 months at a minimum. Jamie and his team had me up and running in 8 weeks.
