The Client

Ch’íyáqtel (formerly Tzeachten) is a first nation community located within the boundaries of Chilliwack and Sardis BC. With over 700 members, this community has proven to be a mighty force with several successful real estate ventures and affordable housing projects.

The Challenge

While the Ch’íyáqtel community was growing and thriving, their website was not. With an outdated design and structure, their site was difficult for members to navigate, confusing to visitors, and didn’t capture the essence of who they are.

Because Ch’íyáqtel operates like a municipality within a city, its website needs were complex. They required a “members only” section to serve members, a solid messaging strategy to communicate their heritage, successful land stewardship, a name change, and promotion of their Ch’íyáqtel Sports Complex.

The Outcome

We first united the Ch’íyáqtel team through a brand strategy session so we could hone in on key stakeholders, the messages they wanted to communicate, and what they needed their website to accomplish. We also helped them recreate their logo suite as they did not have all the right logo files and assets to effectively rollout the brand on merchandise and stationary.

By addressing the needs of each audience, we were then able to create a site that functioned far better than what they had before. Using Webflow Memberships, we created a gated content area for the members so that they can access all of the information at their fingertips — saving the admin staff at Ch’íyáqtel time and streamlining communication to their community. We sourced and planned an extensive photoshoot including several new drone videos to capture their developments, housing projects, community, reserve lands and surrounding Chilliwack.

The result — a high-performing, clean and minimalist site that they can now be proud of and their members will love using.
