Ready for their close up: How Urban Fig Photography put its brand and website firmly in focus.
When Urban Fig Photography (UFP) decided to go big on capturing the wedding, engagements, and events markets, Jete knew it was time for a brand transformation. UFP had an existing logo and brand identity, but they weren’t strong or memorable. They didn’t represent the current UFP brand.
There was an existing WordPress site too — but like the other assets, it didn’t cut the mustard. It was hard to update and difficult to use, for both visitors and the UFP team alike. What they needed — in addition to a new brand identity — was a user-friendly CMS. Somewhere, Jete and the team could simply and swiftly upload portfolio items and showcase their beautiful, high-end photography work. In addition, the UFP team needed an easy and effective way to share information about their services, as they were already offering photography workshops.
After 10 years, It was time for brand refresh!
After a discovery call to understand UFP’s target audience, we started building the brand identity concepts. We performed a gap analysis to understand how the old website stacked up against its local competitors and determine which elements were missing. Our IA and UX wireframes were created to capture all of the services. We then moved into UI design and ensured that the brand identity was well incorporated into the design, creating a holistic look and feel.
We built the website on Webflow that allowed Jete and her team to easily update the website and add in courses and portfolios through the powerful CMS and editor mode. The new website now lists all of UFP’s services, courses, and information under one domain name. An intuitive user experience and interface allowed this website to shine amongst the competitors and rank better on Google. After the brand transformation: Jete received many solid leads within the first week of launching her new Webflow site plus the site now ranks the top pages of Google search for certain keywords and phrases!

Before & After Transformation
My experience with Khula Studio was literally mind-blowing. I know that sounds super extra, but hearing from friends who have gone through this process, I was expecting things to take 6 months at a minimum. Jamie and his team had me up and running in 8 weeks. And that’s with creating an entire new brand identity and consolidating 3 separate websites into one!! The way he streamlines things makes the process so efficient and organized.
