Brand & Website Built for Community Impact
Five years ago, KHULA gave Afternoon Adventures their first real brand identity. When they came back as a registered nonprofit ready to expand, we rebuilt their website from the ground up.

The Challenge
When Afternoon Adventures first came to KHULA, they had something rare: a genuinely impactful program with a real community behind it, and almost no brand to show for it. No visual identity or website that reflected the impact of their work.
The second challenge came five years later. Afternoon Adventures had built something incredible over the fifteen years in operation. As they formalized into an independent registered nonprofit, their multi-page website no longer met their needs. It was more complex and offered no path for donations. They had outgrown the first version of their digital presence. They came back to KHULA to build something that matched who they'd become.

The Outcome
The first time around, we started from zero. We ran a full discovery process to understand how Afternoon Adventures wanted to position themselves — not just as a program, but as a movement worth joining. From that, we built a brand identity from the ground up: a distinctive visual system with a modern symbol representing growth, a color palette and typography that felt warm and community-forward, and a website that gave the organization its first real home online. For a grassroots ministry that had been operating largely by word of mouth, it was the foundation they'd never had.
That brand foundation held strong. So when they came back to us five years later, the brand just needed to be elevated to meet all the growth they had experienced since our first project.
KHULA stripped the site back to a single page that focused only on the main goals: inspire donations, equip church partners, and recruit volunteers. We re-wrote the messaging and redesigned a page that reflects the world of kids and community. A new donation widget now makes giving frictionless. Partnership programs, summer camps, and community initiatives are showcased to demonstrate the full scope of what's possible when a church says yes. Finally, we went on-site to capture the programs in action. The engaging photography and drone videography tells a clear story and elevates the entire page. The site now does what their mission has always done: makes it extremely simple for people to show up for kids.
